Camelia Restaurant

The challenge

A busy restaurant has to serve guests in the dining room, on the phone and online at the same time. Camelia, a Syrian restaurant in Utrecht, wanted a fast website where guests can find the menu and opening hours and order directly from the restaurant, and behind it a system that brings the till, the kitchen and online orders together instead of spreading them across separate devices.

The solution

We built a complete restaurant solution: a fast website with the menu, opening hours, online ordering for pickup and delivery, and table reservations. Behind the scenes there is a POS system and a kitchen display with its own kitchen account, so the kitchen only sees what it needs. Online orders, table orders and till sales come together in one admin panel. After payment at the till an invoice is created instantly, with a choice of automatic or manual printing. The owner manages the menu, tables, delivery area and promotions personally.

Technology

The website and the admin panel are built in React with Vite and run on a Laravel API. The restaurant's data is kept in its own database, separate from the login data. Images are optimised automatically for fast loading, and both databases can be backed up with a single command.

Result

Camelia now has one system for its website, online orders, till and kitchen. Guests order and pay directly with the restaurant, the kitchen receives every order instantly on its screen and staff no longer enter anything twice at the till. The owner updates the menu, prices and promotions personally whenever needed.
